Privacy Policy
Last updated October 5, 2026
GioStream is a small, private, non-commercial streaming site. This page explains what we store about you, why, and how to get it removed. We don't sell data and we don't run ads.
What we store when you have an account
- Account details: username, email address, and either a password (stored only as a bcrypt hash - we can't read it) or your Google sign-in. Optional avatar and bio.
- Profile settings: who can see your profile and watchlist.
- Anime activity: your watchlist, episodes you've watched and where you stopped (so you can resume), and stats such as total watch time and rank.
- Comments: what you post, when, and likes/dislikes.
You can use the site without an account; then none of the above is stored on our servers.
What stays in your browser
Some things are saved only on your device (browser localStorage), never sent to us:
- Movie and TV watch progress for the “Continue watching” row.
- Player preferences: volume, subtitle language/size/background, preferred quality and server, autoplay / auto-next / auto-skip.
- Which anime episodes you've opened on this device.
Clearing your browser's site data removes all of it.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to see page views and loading speed in aggregate. They don't use cookies and don't identify you individually.
Third parties
- Artwork and titles come from TMDB and anime catalog sites; images may be loaded from their servers.
- Video is streamed from third-party hosts through our relay, so those hosts see our server, not you.
- Backup players (shown only if our own player can't play a title) are embedded third-party sites with their own cookies, ads and privacy policies.
- Google sign-in, if you use it, is subject to Google's privacy policy.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
Account data is kept while your account exists. To have your account and everything linked to it deleted, contact the site owner. See also our Cookie Policy.
